I Had a Pilonidal Sinus Excision Surgery
I finally got rid of my pilonidal sinus today. For those who are unaware, it's basically an ingrown hair gone bad near the tailbone area. If the reader is curious as to what that looks like, a DuckDuckGo images search will give you a good idea. Spoiler: it's not pretty at all.
It made it very difficult to sit and occasionally flared up and caused mild pain.
However, to my surprise, this kind of infection could not be treated by antibiotics. The infection was very persistent, going away and coming back at regular intervals.
In Arabic, this kind of condition is called "house of hair" - basically, under the skin, there is a ton of hair that has gathered up and caused a cyst. This cyst is what ends up causing discomfort.
Due to COVID-19 shutting down all hospitals for basically all surgeries and delaying them indefinitely, I was unable to get the surgery that permanently cures the condition.
However, I am finally done with this demon that has plagued me for months on end.
The recovery might take a while but I think it's worth it.
